Institutional Effectiveness – Richland’s five academic school executive deans participated in day two of a two-day retreat focused on Leading Assessment. Richland Office of Planning and Research for Institutional Effectiveness staff facilitated a discussion about assessment roles and responsibilities, and the deans participated in role-playing activities to enhance their ability to advocate for assessment. The deans learned to use rubrics to evaluate sample assessments from the 2011-12 academic year, and they also discussed types of professional development needed to support assessment for the 2012-13 academic year.
