Emeritus honors Listening Partners volunteers
Sustainable Community Building – Richland’s Emeritus plus 50 Program hosted a volunteer appreciation reception on Aug. 15 to recognize and honor Emeritus volunteers for their support, faithfulness, and commitment in helping Richland English as a Second Language (ESL) students succeed through the Conversation Listening Partners program. Dorothy Ivy was honored for being an active Emeritus volunteer since 1995, and Robert Yaksick and Petie Witter were honored for being active volunteers since 2000. Twenty-two volunteers, 28 ESL students and two ESL instructors participated in the celebration that was planned and facilitated by Dee Ann Benson and Ginger Steinmetz, Emeritus coordinators of volunteers, under the leadership of Mitzi Werther, Emeritus director.
