Student Success – Richland conducted 21 sessions of its mandatory Orientation, Advising, Registration (OAR) program between June 1 and Aug. 27 in which more than 2,000 new-to-college students and more than 800 parents/guests participated. Students rated their satisfaction as excellent or good with each of the four components of the OAR program as follows: interactive group welcome session 96 percent; academic advising session 86 percent; campus tour 83 percent; and registration 80 percent. More than 90 percent of new students who participated in OAR strongly agreed or agreed that the new student orientation was worthwhile and would recommend it to other incoming students.
