Sabine Hall earns nation’s top higher educational architectural award
Sustainable Community Building – Richland’s Sabine Hall LEED Platinum-certified science building was awarded the 2012 Louis I. Kahn Design Citation as the top post-secondary entry this year for American School & University magazine. This is the nation’s top higher education architectural award. The 2012 award jury indicated that the building’s design brings light into the lab environments, creates numerous interaction spaces for students and professors to collaborate in learning, and provides an exterior elevation that blends at a human scale.
