Sustainable Community Building – Kay Eggleston, Richland president, and Jean Conway, Eastfield president, represented the Garland Chamber of Commerce in their respective board of director roles and DCCCD colleges by co-sponsoring employee and student participation in the Garland Association for Hispanic Affairs Hispanic Heritage Banquet on Sept. 8 at the Granville Center Atrium in Garland. The event’s keynote speaker was Sarah R. Saldaña, U.S. Attorney, Northern District of Texas. The banquet raises scholarship funds for Garland Independent School District seniors and recognizes those in the community who provide excellence in education and service.
