Sustainable Community Building — Andy Long, Richland College theatre visiting scholar, and Jennifer Owen, coordinator theatre technical services, participated in the Unified North Texas Auditions for High School/Community College Actors and Technicians sessions, held Nov. 17-18 at Collin College, during which they viewed 309 auditions and observed 75 technical design portfolio presentations. They invited 30 students for call-back interviews, and they successfully recruited 15 top students into the Richland College Theatre Program for next fall with another five potential recruits. The University of Miami, Syracuse University, Pepperdine University, the University of Texas at Austin, Southern Methodist University, and a number of prestigious national acting conservatories also participated in the auditions.
