Sabine Hall recognized with architecture award
Sustainable Community Building — Richland College’s Sabine Hall science building has earned another architectural industry recognition. The LEED Platinum-certified building has been named the 2012 recipient of the prestigious Louis I. Kahn Citation for design in higher education by American School & University (AS&U) magazine. The AS&U jury praised Sabine Hall for delivering on four primary goals: providing top-quality modern teaching facilities for biology, chemistry, physics and geosciences education; enhancing the campus master plan; respecting the long-established architectural vernacular; and earning LEED Platinum certification within budget.
