Service Learning students provide thousands of hours to community
Sustainable Community Building – Richland College fall 2012 Service Learning program data indicate that 486 Richland College and Richland Collegiate High School students served a combined total of 8,899 hours in service to 132 different community agencies through their course work in 13 various subject areas. The students, aligning their Service Learning volunteering with their curricula in accounting, biology, chemistry, computer science, developmental math, economics, EDUC 1300, English, government, mathematics, philosophy and sociology, served a semester average of 18.31 hours per student.
